Rooted in Cape Town, South Africa, Keenan Paul Petersen is a multidisciplinary graphic designer who merges technical precision with creative intuition. Since launching his freelance studio, TheySay Designs, in 2019, Keenan has crafted bold brand identities, produced engaging editorial layouts, and collaborated with creative teams at Habari Media and CAR Magazine—bringing structure, clarity, and style to every project.
His expertise spans both print and digital design, from typographically refined editorial spreads to intuitive, no-code websites built on WordPress and Wix. Whether it’s a lifestyle feature, a product showcase, or a complete brand launch, Keenan’s work is grounded in strong visual hierarchy, clean composition, and purposeful storytelling.
Keenan’s creative spark was first ignited at the age of 14 when he began writing poetry—an early passion inspired by his mother, a poet whose gift for language left a lasting imprint. His visual eye, shaped by his father’s artistic sensibilities, found expression through design, photography, and the vibrant surroundings of Cape Town. This fusion of literary rhythm and visual intuition laid the foundation for his multidisciplinary approach to creative work.
Keenan’s process is also deeply influenced by personal disciplines—martial arts, Catholic spirituality, and a lifelong commitment to learning. He is actively expanding his skillset in UI/UX design through YouTube tutorials and online courses, believing that great design is not only seen, but felt and experienced.
Beyond the screen, Keenan engages with a growing creative community through photography, livestream content, and collaborative design challenges. His work is guided by intention, focus, and calm—qualities that shape the way he approaches every brief with care and clarity.
